It's the same 128×128 file, and that's not a coincidence — Slack's own upload spec is 128×128, identical to Discord's. We checked the harder question too: Slack also caps uploads at 128KB, tighter than Discord's 256KB. Every export we tested landed between 24KB and 40KB, comfortably under that cap.

Do I need admin permission to upload these to my workspace?

That depends on your workspace's own settings — some let any member add a custom emoji, others restrict it to admins. Either way, what you get here is just the file: a transparent PNG, already the right size, ready to hand to whoever does have permission.

Can I use a photo of an actual coworker?

Yes — it's the route to a real likeness rather than a lookalike mascot. Attach a few evenly lit, front-facing photos and the set is built to look like that person, redrawn in whichever style you pick.

Can this make a logo or brand mark instead?

No — this draws a character, a mascot or a person, not a logo. It's built for the reactions a team drops into a thread, not for brand assets. If you need the latter, this isn't the right tool.

How is this different from a site like icons8's emoji maker?

A library-based maker hands you a set of pre-made icons to recolour or remix. This one draws the character — from a description or a photo — so there's no library to dig through and nothing that looks like everyone else's workspace.

What about animated emoji?

Not yet. Every emoji here comes back as a still, transparent PNG, which is what most workspaces actually upload. Animated output is on our list, just not live today.

Does this work for Microsoft Teams instead?

There's now a separate page for that — built with Teams' own vocabulary (Team, channel) and its published 256KB cap, rather than this one with the platform name swapped. If your coworkers are actually on Teams, use that version instead.
