What size do I get, and is it right for a server icon?

The full-size original comes back well above Discord's 512×512 server icon spec. Drop it straight into the free Discord resizer (already linked below, set to server icon) and it crops to 512×512 with a live circular guide — the same crop Discord applies in your server list — before you download.

Can I use this for a profile picture instead of a server icon?

Yes, same output either way — a profile icon is 128px minimum and 512px recommended, which the same resizer covers under its avatar preset. The full breakdown of both sizes, including the circular crop, is in our Discord pfp size guide.

What about a role icon?

Role icons are much smaller (64×64) and need Boost Level 2, and today they're the one Discord square-art surface this page doesn't have a dedicated resizer preset for yet. The full-size result still works as source art — export it and crop to 64×64 by hand until a dedicated role-icon preset ships.

Can I get an animated icon?

Not yet. Every result here comes back as a still, transparent PNG. Discord does support animated server icons as a GIF, but that needs Boost Level 1 regardless of how the source art is made — worth knowing before you plan around it.

How is this different from a template site like Canva?

A template site hands you a shape — a circle, a badge outline — and a clip-art library to fill it with. This one draws the actual character, from a description or a photo, so there's no template to hunt through and no stock art underneath it.

Can I use a photo instead of writing a description?

Yes. Attach one clear, front-facing photo — or a few — and the likeness carries through the style change. A written description becomes optional at that point, just extra colour.
